Sébastien Roux

Born in 1977

Sébastien Roux composes electronic music that he gives to hear in the form of records, listening sessions, installations or soundtracks, radio works. His recent works place the concept of translation at the heart of his work. This principle consists in using a "repertoire" piece (painting, score, text) as a score for a new piece. The first translation, titled Quatuor (2011, commissioned by the GRM) is an electro-acoustic piece based on fragments of the 10th quartet by Ludwig van Beethoven. Inevitable Music is based on the instructions given by the American artist Sol Lewitt to realize his Wall Drawings (wall drawings).
