Traversées sonores

As part of the festival "Le monde est à nous" for the 10th anniversary of UNEAP
from March 10 to 12 at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine- Paris
"Les traversées sonores
with Eddie Ladoire, Yann Rocher and the students of the master "L’ENTOUR" of the School of Architecture Paris-Malaquais
Artistic proposals : Anne-Laure Chamboissier

At the invitation of the UNEAP for the festival Le monde est à nous, Anne-Laure Chamboissier proposes sound crossings through different moments of sharing and exchange with the public: sound walks, listening rooms, conferences...She has invited the following speakers : Eddie Ladoire, sound artist and composer, Yann Rocher, architect and sound designer, as well as his students of the Master’s degree L’entour at ENSA Paris - Malaquais.

At a time when we are caught up in images, the question of listening to our spaces, whether they are architectural, urban or landscaped, is central to understanding differently the places we live in or cross. The spectator is then confronted with his own perspective habits to open the field to new cognitive and sensory experiences.

Echoing this program, a link is woven with the project in Christophe Daviet-Thery’s library "Je déballe ma bibliothèque : Archi/Art" by the presence of some artists’ books resonating with this theme: Steve Roden, Joana Escoval, Nuno da Luz and OOL-Sound Fiction project.

Thursday, March 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm - Cathedral
Conference-listening with Yann Rocher, Eddie Ladoire and Anne-Laure Chamboissier
During a talk punctuated with sound extracts, Yann Rocher and Eddie Ladoire present to the public in a lively and accessible way several issues related to the use of sound in different spaces, whether they are installations or exhibitions.

Friday, March 11 from 2 to 3:30 pm - Auditorium
Meeting with Yann Rocher and students of the master’s course "L’entour de l’École d’architecture Paris-Malaquais: Yasmina Ayuch, Noémie Benlolo, Paola Majdalani.
For the past three years, students from the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture, as part of the "L’entour" master’s course on exhibition scenography, have been working on real scenography projects in collaboration with the Beaux-Arts de Paris. Several students come to present their project and talk about the experience and problems of a real project. One of these collaborations, linked to the "supersonic" chair, is an opportunity to discuss the specificities of a scenography for a series of sound artworks.

Saturday, March 12 from 10 to 11 am
Intimité(s)" listening room with the artist Eddie Ladoire and Anne-Laure Chamboissier.
For several years, Eddie Ladoire has been developing a series entitled "Intimacy" in which he uses the properties and different sound materials of architecture, cities and landscapes to fix a sound image. His creations mix the time frozen by the recording, the present time of the listener and electroacoustic compositions made of micro-fictions, snippets of intimacies, discussions, sounds of everyday life able to create mental images.

Location: Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, 1 place du Trocadéro et du 11 septembre, 75116 Paris

Free entrance for the three events but please bring a ticket at the ticket office.
