Steve Roden
Born in 1964. He works and lives in Los Angeles in Passadena.
Steve Roden is a visual and sound artist. Sound and visual installations, texts, films, performances are all vectors of a work whose main characteristic is to situate itself at the articulation of the various artistic fields. He uses compositional processes based on transposition and synaesthesia. He invents systems based on musical scores, words, and cards, which then guide him in his plastic and sound works.
Since 1993, Steve Roden has also published numerous CDs under his own name and under the name "in between noise". In 2008, the Getty Research Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (MOCA) and the Los Angeles Art Exhibitions (LACE) invited Steve Roden to reinterpret Allan Kaprow’s 1959 seminal performance "18 Happenings in 6 Parts".
